C3 - Christ Centered Community
WHAT IS C3?
C3 stand for Christ Centered Community. It is the model of fellowship that we use at Molokai Baptist Church to glorify God and edify the body by knowing and delighting in the Father through the joy and love of the Spirit and unity in the Son. This approach is twofold. First and foremost, it is centered and founded on Jesus Christ. These groups are designed to encourage and stimulate spiritual growth and maturity for a deeper enjoyment of all that God is for us in Jesus. Second, these groups are created to facilitate deep and meaningful relationships between believers in order to provide love, support, accountability, encouragement, and opportunities for service and ministry. As we grow in knowledge and joy in God, that will overflow in love to gladly meet the needs of others. Overall, C3 is meant to help believers unite in reflecting the grace, love, and fellowship enjoyed by the Trinity (2 Cor 13:14).
WHY IS C3 IMPORTANT?
We believe that C3 is at the core of what it means to be the body of Christ. Jesus teaches us that the fruit of God-exalting love is actively loving others (Matt 22:37). This intimate, Christ-modeled love can only fully take place when people are instructed in the truth through discipleship (Matt 28:18-20) and invited to apply those truths in relationship. C3 is critical to both disciple-making and loving others as Jesus commanded us. There are over 30 “one another” ministries referred to in the New Testament and and most of those cannot take place effectively at a Sunday morning worship service. Deep, soul-touching life-on-life ministry can only take place when people are doing life together and engaging with each other on a regular basis.
